Kiddo Parties | Garbage Truck |
We had a blast celebrating Luke for his third birthday. We decided to just invite his little Spanish immersion preschool classmates and since we did the party mid week (on a Wednesday morning) some of the kiddos couldn’t make it, yet it was the perfect size. I originally was nervous having eight 3 year olds at the house with their parents but it ended up being the most tame party we have ever thrown. I think it made a difference that Luke’s classmates get alone so well but even the parents at the party were commenting that this must have been the quietest birthday party we have ever attended. These kiddos played in the same room independently while the adults got to stand around and chat. It was rainy and cold outside so everyone spent the whole time inside except for the few who decided to bounce in the bouncy house which we had in the garage.
Activities at the party:
Trash Toss-I just crinkled up newspaper and threw it on the floor. The kids ended up having a lot of fun just going around to collect it in the bucket then dump it out to do it all over again.
Coloring Sheets- I had my friend Caitlin make me coloring sheets that said “Happy Birthday Luke”. Kids just colored on the table before we ate. I put two sets of the mini markers which I got from Michaels on each end of the table for everyone to color.
Bouncy House- We had our bouncy house blown up in our garage but very few kids ended up wanting to bounce. Yet, it was easy to go out the back door and come back inside if they wanted to come and go.
We had a no gift request for the party and I ended up buying one gift that we said was from everyone. We had Luke open it at the party and then shared it with his friends. It was a great way to keep the gifts minimal and something he would truly play with.
Party Details:
We had the amazing Cakes by Frosted do the Garbage truck cake and my super talented friend Caitlin Buracker did the graphic design for my signs and labels. I got the vests from Ikea and the personalized name patches by Embroidery By Zevotek which her shop can be found on Etsy.
Take Home Gifts- I bought the garbage cans on Amazon and used black dog poop bags to wrap them up. Inside the small garbage bags I put temporary garbage truck tattoos that our actual garbage man gave us for the party and then a set of primary color sidewalk chalk which I also bought off Amazon. The kids also got to take home their personalized vests too.
